The US Geological Survey classified the quake as "notable" west northwest of Lofall, Kitsap County. It occurred at a depth of 23.5 kilometers (14.6 miles).
According to the network, information gathered from people who felt the quake aids in the creation of maps that show what people experienced and the extent of the damage.
The quake was felt on Whidbey Island, as well as in Marysville, Everett, and Renton. The National Weather Service in Seattle's overnight crew reported feeling it at the station near the University of Washington.
There has been no damage reported.
